The Story
A reverent clash of the divine and the disposable, a scene where faith and consumerism tangle in uneasy harmony. At the centre, the sacred bleeding heart of Jesus pulses with celestial glow, encircled by angels—figures of sacrifice and eternity. Above, a 1972 Corvette Stingray hovers, it’s sleek, plastic body gleaming with the promise of speed and excess. Below, a plastic bottle of baby powder—a household staple once trusted, now toxic, it’s innocence lost in the wake of revelation. Nearby, a mass-produced rubber toy and a flimsy plastic backyard chair—once symbols of childhood and suburban normalcy, now haunting artefacts of an era that did not consider its footprint. These objects, still existing somewhere, buried in landfills, resist decay like forgotten prayers to an unholy altar of convenience. It is a meditation on permanence—the sacred versus the synthetic, the things we worship, and the waste we leave behind.
Packaging
